About the Activity

Inukshuk Challenge — You're Stronger Together

Inukshuks were originally used as signposts or markers in wilderness areas that didn't have many prominent geological features. Using the materials gathered, teams assemble their own giant Inukshuk that will mark a cache of goods donated at the end of the programme.

Some groups will realise early that their building success depends on working together with their neighbours. While groups will have materials just sufficient to complete the task, they won't have enough by themselves to create something truly spectacular. Only teams that begin to combine resources and help one another will make truly impressive Inukshuks — a powerful lesson about collaboration that resonates long after the event.

How It Works

Here's how it works…

1
Understand the Inukshuk

Teams learn about the Inukshuk — the manmade stone landmarks used as signposts and markers in wilderness areas. Each team will build their own giant Inukshuk that marks a cache of donated goods.

2
Build with What You Have

Each team is given just enough materials to complete the task — but not enough to create something truly spectacular alone. Teams that realise they need to combine resources with neighbours create the most impressive results.

3
Donate the Cache

At the end of the programme, all goods marked by the Inukshuks are donated to a local Mexican charity or community. The collaborative insight and the donation ceremony create a powerful shared conclusion.

An Inukshuk is a manmade stone landmark created by Indigenous peoples of the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions. They were originally used as signposts or markers in wilderness areas. In this activity, teams build a giant Inukshuk that marks their cache of donated goods.
Teams are given just enough materials to build individually, but not enough to create something truly impressive. The activity is designed to organically reveal the power of combining resources — teams that don't collaborate produce noticeably less impressive results.
The cache of goods marked by the Inukshuks — typically non-perishable food items and supplies — are donated to a local Mexican charity or community identified by Grupo Events.
Yes — the Inukshuk Challenge can run both indoors and outdoors. An outdoor beach or resort setting adds an atmospheric backdrop that complements the wilderness-landmark theme beautifully.
